Depuis 2001 elle explore la relation entre l’identité humaine et la sexualité et s’intéresse plus particulièrement aux notions de fantasmes ou de rapports de force (conflits intérieurs, tabous sociaux, plaisirs de domination ou de soumission, etc.). Sa recherche débute à l’Institut de Recherche Avancée sur Sexualité Humaine à San Francisco et se poursuit aux Beaux arts du Wisconsin où elle termine ses études avec les félicitations du jury.

Melissa Steckbauer est une artiste multimédia (peinture, photographie et vidéo).

Lives and works in New York and Berlin

Since 2001, she has explored the relationship between human identity and sexuality and is particularly interested in the notions of fantasy or force (internal conflicts, social taboos, pleasure derived from domination or submission, etc.) Her research began at the Institute for Advanced Research on Human Sexuality in San Francisco and continued at Wisconsin Fine Arts where she graduated with the congratulations of the jury.
